About Me

Carolyn Bruner Russell, artist

Originally from Pennsylvania, I moved to Florida in 1992 as an elementary school teacher.  Once retired I filled my days with my own pursuits.  I came across these interesting, mesmerizing shapes that drew my attention.  I learned they were tangles from the Zentangle® method of pattern drawing.  I was fortunate enough to be able to take classes in Orlando and eventually went for certification to teach.  Now I feel very lucky to be able to put two of my great loves together:  teaching and tangling.

My husband, Ted, and I live outside Orlando, Florida with our Aussie/beagle dog Winnie and black and white cat, Churchill.  We have four grown children and two grandchildren.

Now that I'm retired, I have immersed myself in the many flavors of Florida.  I love traveling through old Florida towns admiring the ancient oaks draped with Spanish moss, and spending a day at the beach.  My other interests are yoga, reading, knitting, riding my motorcycle, and of course, creating my art.
